Unmanned Aircraft Systems

One of the fastest growing niche sectors in aerospace is unmanned. Drones or unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have primarily been associated with military operations. Today, compact versions are increasingly operating in everyday life and the UAS industry is fast becoming a multi-billion-dollar business.

Kredo has increasingly earned a reputation as one of the principal global go-to PR and communications strategy consultancies for the unmanned sector.

Drop the Pilot

Kredo has been representing organisations in the unmanned sector for many years now, including one of Europe’s leading manufacturers.

From a standing start, this client has become a champion of innovation in the highly disruptive unmanned aerospace sector. Although it evolved into a joint venture with a world recognised aerospace and defence brand, the mandate demands that it needs to carve its own future in the fiercely competitive and dynamic world of unmanned aircraft.

Lift- Off

Virtually from a standing start, this unmanned helicopter specialist needed to catapult its profile to a much higher place. A competitor already had production and orders in place, and the countdown was on for a range of contracts in the defence and civilian sectors.

The communications strategy was designed to cover a global market space. Business development workshops held at the company’s two manufacturing bases in Switzerland and Sweden ratified a pumped up and highly targeted strategy.

Global Brief

With no room for wasted efforts, the precision PR and media programme rapidly developed a social media presence that has become the sector’s gold standard.

Incorporating news reports, video briefings and targeted messaging to support initiatives ranging from military exhibitions and demonstrations across the world.

Event support ran across AUVSI in the USA, IDEX in the UAE, DSEI in London, DSA in Malaysia, air shows in Farnborough, Paris, Dubai and Bengaluru, and maritime and navy events including international focused gatherings in Chile, France and Australia.

Packing a Punch

With stretched internal resources and limited access to key spokespersons, the key to success was flexibility in tactics. Kredo has developed a strategic approach encompassing sector-based campaigns, attached to events, enabling a hierarchy of activities to be integrated.

In this way, social media, video interviews with third-parties and company experts, location reports, demonstration updates and on the ground media briefings are co-ordinated to ‘pack a punch’ to support specific programmes and market objectives.
